Last week, I spoke with the community of Highland Park Elementary in Austin ISD.
The presentation was on how to be an ally and champion for kids from a diversity, equity, and inclusion perspective. We had meaningful and candid discussions on how to build relationships and support students and families from diverse backgrounds. There is so much to discuss with this topic, but participants walked out with ideas on how they can be a better ally and champion for marginalized students.
