Visit to Fulton Montgomery Community College

Today, I had the opportunity to speak on how to support marginalized populations (race, gender, orientation, disability, etc.) through being a champion and ally. It’s easy to talk on these topics to people that look like you, your own kind. However, if you want true change and impact, you have to have these talks with people who don’t look like you.

I was blessed today to speak to a group that didn’t look like me, wasn’t from where I was from, etc. We talked about topics such as privilege, microaggressions, and more. It seemed to be a very positive experience for all, based on the feedback I received below. As much as they learned, I learned too!
